This event is aimed at offering an opportunity for ongoing theological formation for priests and all those who have an interest in theology.Prof. O’Callaghan will present a theological analysis of the meaning of Christian witnessing and evangelization, starting from the reference point of Christ, the true witness, and moving on to describe the way Christians are called to share in Christ’s mission of giving testimony to the truth. This gathering will also provide an occasion for discussion of evangelization in the contemporary world from both a theological as well as pastoral point of view.Prof. Paul O’Callaghan serves as Ordinary Professor of Theological Anthropology at the Pontifical University of Holy Cross in Rome, where he has taught since 1990. A native of Ireland, he holds a Licentiate and Doctorate in Theology from the University of Navarre (Spain). He is the author of numerous theological works, including God's Gift of the Universe. An Introduction to Creation Theology. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Council of the Pontifical Academy of Theology.This event is sponsored by the Santa Croce Institute, a program of the Nassau Foundation, which collaborates with the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross Foundation to foster academic engagement on behalf of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.The event is free of charge. Lunch will be available for purchase at the Seminary cafeteria, and parking will be available at the Seminary Library.
